![]() § Jin Goo as Dae-young was smoldering hot-so masculine, swoon!-and he was so convincing in his role. § I love the poster-it’s so romantic with the ML on his knees to tie her boots…. There are so many other articulate and insightful comments from KFG fans below, but I still wanted to share my comments: I was glued to this drama until the very end. I am sorry that I’m 5-years late to this kdram-phenom, but as a newbie, I can finally add DotS to my list of completed kdramas. It was fun and engaging grand with the potential to be magnificent. Added up, I just generally found it hard to connect with her as Mo Yun, quite a lot of the time.Īgree with all of your comments, KFG! Spot on, as usual. Plus, there’s an intermittent vacuity in her gaze that I found bemusing. At times, it almost felt like she wasn’t convinced of the lines that she had to deliver either. I believed her sorrow, and those moments were the ones where I felt most engaged by her as a character.Īt other times, though, like when Mo Yun was being funny, cutesy or prickly, I didn’t feel very convinced by Song Hye Kyo in character, I’m afraid. I felt she did best when Mo Yun was grieved. The other part of it, is in the delivery – I also acknowledge that it’s hard to deliver a female lead who’s very flawed and yet likable. I’d say that overall, Song Hye Kyo’s delivery as Mo Yun was rather patchy, for me. I never loved her, but eventually, I stopped disliking her and felt that she was pretty alright, if sometimes bemusing. But I will say that I eventually warmed to Mo Yun as a character. It’s supposed to be a deeply emotional arc exploring the vulnerability and humanity of doctors, but I was distractedly asking myself through it all, why the medical team was even entering the collapsed building to search for survivors to begin with, when in earlier episodes, the soldiers had taken care of that, and then brought the injured to the medical team.īecause the practices felt inconsistent, the execution of the arc felt manufactured and contrived, to me. I figure this was Show’s way of making her look cool, but I’m pretty sure that’s not recommended practice.Īnother instance that had me scratching my head, is in episode 8, which had an extended arc where Chi Hoon (a very solid performance by Onew) goes into a troubled emotional funk because he abandons survivor Kang Min Jae (Lee Yi Kyung) when the building rubble they are in starts to collapse. ![]() What are your thoughts? You can read more about Song Hye Kyo at the event in the article below. One eyebrow-raising instance of strange medical practice, is in episode 7, when Mo Yun (Song Hye Kyo) whacks a patient’s chest repeatedly instead of performing actual CPR. “Her hair and makeup have nothing to do with the theme and is ugly.”.“She’s pretty! Her hair and makeup might not be the best, but she still pulls it off and is undeniably pretty, LOL.”.She doesn’t look good with that hairstyle.” “Her hairstyle is covering her beauty.“Wow, she’s so pretty and looks so good with that hairstyle.”.They are trying out unique styles because they are at an event like (the Met Gala).” ![]() You guys are criticizing Song Hye Kyo and Jennie about their hairstyle, makeup, and proportions, LOL. They are so pretty AF, but (the hairstyle) looks like (bug) antennas, ㅠㅠ.” “I wish (celebrities) don’t style their hair this way, including Suzy ㅠㅠ.“Her dress is fine, but her hairstyle makes her face look long, ㅠㅠ.”.

![]() Not surprisingly, the ecosystem of G43 holsters and other accessories is second to none in the Glock lineup. The Glock 43 is an incredibly reliable firearm, and in my own experiences with the gun, I have experienced absolutely no malfunctions of any kind. ![]() Even people who are new to guns and are looking for their first concealed carry pistol have most likely heard of Glock’s stellar reputation.Īnd there can be no question that the Glock 43 has continued to live up to the high standards that the company has set. In other words, Glock has built an almost impenetrable reputation. In contrast, the PPS has been out since just 2007 and the S&W M&P line since 2005 (and the other offerings are from that same time frame as well). Glock has been producing their line-up since the 1980s. Other offerings such as the S&W Shield or the Walther PPS have certainly proven themselves to be reliable pistols over the years, and many people depend their lives on them.īut the Glock has something that the other brands really don’t: track record. So really, it’s easy to see why the 9mm single stack has skyrocketed in popularity to the point that it is today the most popular category of concealed carry handguns on the market.īut what makes the Glock 43 so special among the various other 9mm single stacks that are out there? Well… What Makes The Glock 43 Worth Owning?įirst of all, the Glock 43 is not the only high quality or reliable 9mm single stack on the market. 38, and will have a capacity of anywhere from 6 to 9 rounds. 38 revolver, more powerful and easier to shoot than either the. Because of its specific dimensions, you might want to learn what the best Glock 43 holster is.īut what makes the single stack 9mm in general such a good choice for concealed carry, regardless of the make or model that you choose? Glock capitalized on the success of the 9mm single stack and essentially shrunk down their full size models in terms of width and height to make the 43. So really, the Glock 43 wasn’t anything particularly special or revolutionary. More single stack 9s, followed, from the Springfield XDS-9 to the Smith & Wesson M&P9 Shield to the Beretta Nano to the SIG Sauer P290 to the Taurus PT709 to the Ruger LC9. In other words, it was with the release of the PPS that most people truly began to see the value in carrying a single stack 9mm. Yes, there had been single stack 9mms released before the PPS (such as the Kahr series of pistols or the 1911 in 9mm), but it really was with the release of the PPS that the dawn of the concealed carry 9mm single stack had arrived. 38 snub nose revolver, assuming you didn’t want to carry something larger.īut that really changed in 2007 when Walther released the PPS, a single stack 9mm striker fired and polymer framed semi-automatic pistol with a 6-8 round capacity depending on the magazine. In The Winter’s Tale (around 1610), the English poet and playwright William Shakespeare (1564-1616) makes Autolycus sing the following:įor the red blood raigns in y winters pale. The word pale also came to be used figuratively to mean a sphere of activity, influence, knowledge, etc. – the area of Ireland under English jurisdiction it varied in extent at different times between the late 12 th and 16 th centuries, but included parts of modern Dublin, Louth, Meath, and Kildare.Īnd the Pale, more fully the Pale of Settlement, after Russian čerta osedlosti, literally boundary of settlement, was a set of specified provinces and districts within which Jews in Russia and Russian-occupied Poland were required to reside between 17. – the territory of Calais, in France, an area of English jurisdiction and colonisation from 1347 to 1558 it was the only continental possession retained by England at the end of the Hundred Years’ War (1337-1453) In particular, the term the English pale denoted: The English noun pale came to also denote an area enclosed by a fence, hence any enclosed place and a district or territory within determined bounds or subject to a particular jurisdiction. The Latin word is from a base which is the origin of Latin pax/ pac-, peace, pangere, to fix, fasten, paciscere, to agree (cf. This word appeared in the late 14 th century and is from Anglo-Norman and Middle French pal, meaning a stake, a palisade, a space enclosed by stakes, and its etymon, the classical Latin noun palus, denoting a stake and a wooden post used by Roman soldiers to represent an opponent during fighting practice. The simplicity and functional beauty of his designs still appeal to today's architects and interior designers. The primary meanings of the noun pale are a wooden stake or post used with others to form a fence and a wooden fence made of stakes driven into the ground. 1968 was in many ways a revolutionary year, and Jacobsen's designs for Vola´s iconic 111 system from that year had a truly innovative concept: to hide all the tubes in the wall. Of course, for this remarkable building, Jacobsen also used lamps and door-handles he designed – striving to create an architectural Gesamtkunstwerk: a coherent aesthetic expression. This was also the case when Jacobsen, together with Verner Overgaard, developed a line of fittings for the National Bank of Denmark that is still produced by Vola to this day. As architects, they aspiredto create something new, while solving an aesthetic or functional problem they perceived. All classics now, they were oftentimes designed for a specific architectural environment, and as a bold formal statement. Arne Jacobsen is one of only a few 20th-century architects, among them giants like Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier, who have created not only spectacular houses, but smaller scale designs that are still in production decades after they were conceived. ![]() I admit that each way a character was killed was unique to any other death, but the creators of the show just made it every possible way to make the show as bloody and gory as possible. It was funny the first couple of time but, like happy wheels, the first time you play it you think it's the best but then it just gets repetitive, that is exactly what happy tree friends is, repetitive gore. The same thing kept happening over and over. The way little kids are able to get away with watching this show is that a first glance it does look like a little kids TV show. Right of the bat in the first couple I noticed that this was not for kids, even though idk if I am considered a kid but kids still shouldn't watch it. By that time I real see how dark of a show it is, they even kill animal babies in the show. When I saw the show for the first time,I thought it was the most funny show out there, then a couple episodes in I got bored. "Resistence is Futile"Įverybody knows about the show called happy tree friends a show where these cute little creatures go about their business but the horrify the viewers with the gruesome things that happen to theses cute little animals. I just can't get enough of my Happy Tree Friends. My favorite episode is, well, I don't have a favorite episode. But, I think that's what I like about it. This show is not intended for young children or big babies. I loved the day I showed it to my parents and watched them cringe as Lumpy, the moose, sawed his leg off with a spoon. I am usually laughing while she is screaming. It is the perfect show for anyone who has a weird demented sense of humor. I bought the Overkill DVD which features 50+ episodes of brutal morbid death of cute innocent animals. Then, out of nowhere comes some disastrous thing that Kills all of them in brutal ways. It features cute cuddly animals who start out with a happy thing like, playing on a merry go round, going to the zoo, sitting around a campfire. This show, however, is nowhere near kid friendly. I have seen all of the episodes or at least all of the ones which I am aware of their existence. Well, Happy Tree Friends is possibly the best cartoon on the internet. According to the website, the idea for Happy Tree Friends was conceived by Rhode Montijo when he drew a yellow rabbit (slightly resembling Cuddles) on a piece of paper and wrote "Resistance Is Futile" underneath it. Though it is obvious what each character's reaction is, their words can barely be understood. The show is nearly free of dialogue when the characters do speak, their words are severely garbled. While the violence of these deaths is compared to that of The Itchy & Scratchy Show (a short cartoon featured on The Simpsons), the deaths in Happy Tree Friends are even more graphic and more drawn out. Every episode features at least one character's violent and bloody death, except the two episodes: "Out on a Limb", "Nuttin' but the Tooth","Asbestos i can do" and possibly "House Warming" (which still featured blood and gore and characters who would have possibly died of blood loss or shock). " Notwithstanding the cuteness of its characters, the show is extremely violent. As indicated on the official site, the show is "not recommended for small children. Warren Graff is also credited in creating the Happy Tree Friends. Happy Tree Friends is a flash cartoon series by Mondo Mini Shows, created by Kenn Navarro, Aubrey Ankrum and Rhode Montijo. I the other hand anyone with an innocent sense of humor and weak stomach should stay away. Even though the show makes me sick sometimes I still find it really funny and addictive and I think anyone with a twisted sense of humor will enjoy it. The animation is done in flash and it takes about 6 months to do and it's really good and impressive for a non-mainstream cartoon. ![]() Some characters like Cuddles, Toothy and Sniffles die in almost every episode they featured in so you can predict that they are going to die while other characters like Flippy and Splendid rarely die so the writers sometimes try to surprise fans when they kill these characters. The internet shorts were about 3 minutes long so the writers didn't have much time to tell a story so they usually went to the violence really fast but in the TV seven minute episodes the writers are able to tell a nice story in which a character faces a normal problem and tries to solve it and always while trying to solve that problem the character would cause the other's character's deaths and it's own. Every episode features cute innocent cuddly animals getting slaughtered in the most gruesome ways possible. Happy Tree Friends is a show that started as a internet shorts that became very popular and gained it's own TV series that now aires on G4. ![]() $ sudo service apache2 restart Figure 5: Configuring the database Figure 6: Splash screenĪ quick start and set-up of the admin account Restart the Apache server to update the changes made to Apache’s config directory. If an audiofile has speech content, one can count the total words, divide by total minutes, and hence, calculate a words-per-minute. (It's also possible they published primary research in an academic journal that google doesn't index.) It looks like their comment about speech acceleration is anecdotal instead of being based on rigorous research. As for reading text, it looks like RT's commentary on speedreading is based on meta-research and not primary lab research. That's true we don't know what they considered but a cursory search doesn't find any primary research on 2x audio acceleration performed by either Rebecca Treiman or Jeffrey Zacks. >we don't know what the authors considered they apparently have done a lot of research on the subject They would have been surprised to learn that people can follow the meaning of the words at 200wpm very easily.
